A modern tale that takes place right on the border between dream and reality. Perfect for reading aloud!
This time Little E has packed her green plaid bag to travel with her aunt to the Caribbean. The very first night, Little E’s aunt comes down with yellow fever so Little E has to take care of herself. But she doesn’t mind. Unafraid as she is, she immediately takes off on adventures.
She meets the boy Carlix who has lost the entire mango harvest in a cyclone. Now he won’t get paid and can’t go home for his uncle’s wedding. Little E decides to help Carlix and sets out to find the mango baskets.
It is the start of an exciting adventure where she meets many whacky characters, just like in the first book, Little E Goes off on a Journey (2009).
In the winter of 2009, Charlotta Lannebo, just like Little E, packed her bag and went to the Caribbean. There she traveled around and, among other things, worked on a banana plantation. She also met many of the people who appear in the story.
Press voices about Little E Goes off on a Journey:
“Little E Goes off on a Journey is a well cast and plotted story with poetic, fairytale like language. The mystical atmosphere and the magic of the Christmas night are so well portrayed that you truly feel the dark, snow covered Stockholm. The
experience is enhanced by the handling of shadowing in Maria Nilsson-Thore’s tasteful black and white illustrations.
This is Lannebo’s debut, and what a debut!”
