Can’t things just be like they always have been? After her year as an exchange student in London, Sara crashes down in the humdrum of everyday life. She wants nothing but to get her “real life” back, meaning, her good friends and all the fun they used to have together.
Sara is back in her home town back to everything she left and missed. Her friends, her family and, not the least, Mattias. Mattias whom she dumped before she left. Mattias, the twin brother of Bella, one of Sara’s best friends. She had hoped that everything would be forgotten and forgiven when she returned. That by the time school starts again they will be back in their old roles. But Bella and Mattias both seem to do their best to avoid her.
To do something different Sara starts going to Jiu-Jitsu. Here she gets to know Adrian. Adrian is seriously irritating, but everything is still more fun when he is around. Sara has a hard time letting go of Mattias, everything about him is so familiar, she knows a million things about him. Adrian, she knows almost nothing about. But when Sara has to choose between the two, the choice is not as easy as she thought it would be…
About being torn between the well-known and the new. About changing and moving on. About stumbling onto things that feel difficult at first, but can turn out to be the best thing you ever did.
Johanna Lindbäck once again shows us that she is a master of feel good realism. True-to-life characters that you can’t help but love and, of course, an extreme sense of recognition.
