Maybe you dream of becoming a celebrity, or a dolphin handler, or a soccer pro? Maybe you haven’t really made up your mind. Here you can read about different jobs, and how you can learn if they are really your thing. Do the test and find the look!
Are you thinking about becoming a celebrity? Then it is good if you like it when people recognize you. Take a white shirt and write “I’m famous” on it. Now walk around the block. If this feels good, you are probably perfect as a celebrity, otherwise you might want to think a little more.
Or do you want to be an archeologist? Then you have to be patient. Sometimes archeologists have to work for many weeks before they find even one interesting thing. Take a bag of candy and watch it. Don’t open it. For how long? For as long as you can…
A few years ago, I was out driving with my son. He sat in the backseat, wondering about the future. He was a little concerned. He wanted to be a pilot.
“Alright,” I said. “Good idea.”
But then he wanted to be a soccer pro, too.
“Oh, okay,” I said. “How are you going to do that?”
Then he told me that he could be a pilot until lunch and play soccer in the afternoon. His earnest look helped me realize that this was no joking matter.
I pondered. He was as serious as only a child can be. This book is an attempt to try to gather these meditations about work, and give all children a chance to think some more on the topic.
