How do you know if you really know someone?
How do you know who you can trust?
And what do you do when things that never happen actually happen?
Andreas has recently moved to his dad’s house in a small community outside of town, which is where Andreas grew up as a child. The closest neighbor is Erik’s family, Erik, who he no longer sees, but who was Andrea’s best friend when they were little. They start hanging out together, walk home from town and eat at each other’s houses.
Andreas is going out with Hanna, and he thinks he knows her. Same thing with the boys in his class, after all, they’ve spent almost three years together and are real buddies. But Hanna, and even his buddies, let Andreas down. And he gets totally depressed. How do you move on? When does it stop hurting? The person who helps turn things around is Erik, even if Andreas in the beginning mostly thinks everything is pathetic – they’re not even real friends. But they see each other more and more and suddenly, everything changes.
Johanna Lindbäck’s fourth book is, like the three earlier ones, a page turner with well defined characters that you can’t help but like, and of course, the sense of recognition is super strong.
Voices from the media:
“Lindbäck succeeds in finding the exact right tone in both language and content.”
One Book a Day about Tänk om det där är jag (What if That’s Me ), 2009
“This is the romantic girl book at its best: emotionally loaded, well written, and realistic. Few can, like Johanna Lindbäck, utilize the drama of new love to engage the reader in other daily life concerns of teen girls.”
Lotta Olsson, DN about Min typ brorsa (My Brother, Sort Of), 2008
“Skillfully composed debut.”
