Emma is fourteen years old and spends most of her time with her beloved horse Ajax. But when her best friend Katrin starts to become more interested in boys than horses, they grow apart. And then everything else changes as well when Emma’s parents decide that the family will be moving to Mongolia for a while to work and to try to keep the family together.
In Mongolia, Emma meets Baska, a girl of her own age and she soon realises that Mongolia is a land of horses, but in another way than at home. This is a journey in an inner and an outer sense, written in a first person narrative.
Lin Hallberg is well-known among horse loving readers for her many books. In order to write this novel, she lived in Mongolia for several months.
