Eva Susso was born in Gothenburg in 1956. Ever since her childhood, Eva Susso has been searching for a means to express herself; she started writing while still a child, and as a teenager took up painting and lived what might be called an artist’s life until she had her first child. She then embarked upon academic studies, completing a university degree in Literature and Swedish, after which she worked for some years as an editor in a publishing house.
It was her marriage to a Gambian man and their two children that inspired Eva to start writing again: “I wanted to do my bit so that the multi-cultural Sweden would be represented in children’s literature. Searching for one’s own identity and self-esteem are themes that seem to me to be natural as well as urgent to deal with.”
Eva Susso is now the mother of three children and she lives in Stockholm.
